A simple model has been fruitful for 50 years
Calvary Chapel has a 50 year history of equipping believers for Spirit-filled lives. The formula is simple:
- Teach students how to study the Bible for themselves
- Teach students how to share the truths of Scripture with others
- Provide an environment where students have hands on ministry experience, practicing the first two points
- Watch as God empowers students to serve Him in whatever capacity He sees fit
Equipping students to serve
The initial year of Bible College will see us working through the aforementioned model, to lay the ground work for hands-on ministry. As students are growing in their ability to study and share the truths of Scripture, they will be serving at the Living God Church, A Heart for Wisdom School, and participating in outreaches to the neighboring villages.
As this progresses, students become comfortable being the church – the hands, feet, and ambassadors of Christ.
The shift from student to leader
Our intention is not to simply increase head knowledge, we desire to see students who are empowered by God to transform their community. We have witnessed countless individuals become impactful members of their church communities by simply being obedient to His leading.
Some continued by serving in their local church a few hours a week, others are led to pastoral ministry. Some are now leading Bible Colleges themselves, both domestically and internationally. Serving in their home church or serving overseas, many have responded to God’s call on their lives.
Our biggest goal is to raise up Cambodian students, who will be equipped to take over this ministry and continue the long tradition of raising up the next generation. With an average age of 26, Cambodia is a nation on the verge of transformation within a generation. We want to see God’s Spirit bringing that transformation.
