What a month July has been!
A lot has been happening as we prepare to move to Cambodia in September. In June we sold almost everything we own and moved out of our Twin Peaks home. Our two years in Twin Peaks were a wonderful time of ministering at the Bible College, where Michael served as Director. Those two years were also a fun time for our family to make friends in our neighborhood and be involved with Twin Peaks Community Church.
Twin Peaks Departure
July brought us into a new season of spending time with family, and raising support for our next few years in Cambodia. As we left Twin Peaks and travelled up the West Coast we were able to spend time with our good friends Renee and Ikaika Murphy near Yosemite, hang out with Michael’s family and play at a waterpark, and make it up to Katie’s dad’s house in Southern Washington in time to spend the 4th of July with her family.
Vancouver, WA
Since landing in the Vancouver, WA area we have enjoyed the outdoors and time with family as well as spending time in prayer and planning for Cambodia. We’ve made some wonderful connections with churches and individuals that have been helpful in our preparation to serve in SE Asia. We took our kids on a camping trip in the Olympic National Park (seeing that it was a last opportunity to do this before leaving the USA indefinitely), visited some retiring missionary friends of ours, and made some new connections with a church that supports missions in unreached countries.
God’s Confirmation
Overall, the Lord continues to show in the little parts of our days the confirmed calling for our family to serve in Cambodia. Along with all the fun and blessing, there has also been a lot of difficulty and warfare in this past month. As God has graciously held us up under all of the attacks, the Lord reminded us of this verse the Apostle Paul penned when speaking about his ministry in Asia and Europe:
“For a great and effective ministry has opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.”
Prayer Requests
Adversaries will surely come, but the prayers of the saints like you, and the grace and power of God’s perfect presence upholds us. Please keep us in your prayers as we are just 6 weeks away from moving to Cambodia to do what God has appointed for us there. He is good and faithful and HE WILL ACCOMPLISH what He has appointed for us to do. All praise and honor and power and glory and dominion be to Him forever and ever.
