The Mission is simple:

Establishing disciples of Jesus in a nation that is largely unreached by the gospel.

Cambodia has a 93% Buddhist population and is about 1% Christian. The people of Cambodia are generally not familiar with Jesus, the Bible, or the gospel. The hopeless nature of the predominant religion has left their country in darkness and despair for far too long. But the word of God brings light and transforms nations! We believe strongly that the Lord wants His word and His gospel taught in Cambodia. He has opened a door for us to raise up disciples and leaders in Cambodia who will continue to share Jesus with their country around them. 

While in Cambodia we plan to simply fulfill the Great Commission in the ways God calls us to.

Isn’t that what we’re all doing as believers?

So please join us, because we cannot do this without you. Please pray for us, and please partner with us financially to teach God’s word to those whom He will reach with His gospel to bring life and endurance to His church in Cambodia.

Jesus Christ IS that light and we are excited to lift HIS NAME high and see His light shine ever brighter on the Cambodian people.

How will this be accomplished practically?

The Ancheta family will be serving in Cambodia, helping to strengthen a young church in Takeo Province, raise up pastors and ministry leaders, establish a Bible college to train students in God’s word and to share their faith with those around them.

We are not starting a new work in Cambodia, we are coming alongside a couple who have been serving for over 20 years. To understand our place and calling, one must first be introduced to Kit and Ream Carson.

Kit and Ream Carson’s story

2000

Kit visits Cambodia for the first time in 2000, where he met Ream. Seeing many needs in the country, Kit decides to move there to see how God would use Him.

2003

Kit and Ream are married in 2003.

2005

A Greater Hope NGO is started to serve in Takeo Province, Cambodia.

2006 - 2020

Kit and Ream open an orphanage, raising dozens of children over the next 15 years. As the children grew into adults, and families improved their ability to care for children, the orphanage closed in 2020.

2010 - 2013

A Heart for Wisdom (AHFW), a private Christian School, is licensed by the Cambodian Government to offer Kindergarten classes in 2010. By 2013, the school is licensed to offer a full K-12 grade education.

2019 - 2025

The Living God Church is formed in 2019, to provide Bible based teaching for those in Takeo Province. A Heart for Wisdom now has over 1100 students, with several testing as top performers in the nation in various subjects.

The Carson’s and Ancheta’s paths met in 2015, growing into a friendship and partnership in His calling.

2008

Katie and Michael meet while attending Kauai Bible College, and get engaged in August of 2008.

2009 - 2012

Katie and Michael are married in 2009, completing school and begin working at Veritas International University.

2012

The Ancheta’s, now joined by Josiah, move to Kauai to began an evangelism ministry to tourists.

2013 - 2019

Michael is co-founder of Calvary Chapel Bible College Kauai (CCBCK), serving as Director until 2019. Katie serves as the Executive Director for Friends of Bethany Hamilton (now Beautifully Flawed Foundation) from 2012 to 2016.

2015

Michael and the Carson’s meet at the Calvary Chapel Asia Missions conference. They begin plans for an initial trip with CCBCK students in 2016.

2016 - 2019

CCBCK has its first trip to Cambodia in the Fall of 2016, returning with new teams twice a year until CCBCK closes. The entire Ancheta family come for the final three week trip in 2019.

2023 - 2025

Michael serves as director of the main Calvary Chapel Bible College campus in Twin Peaks, CA. In the final semester of the campus, he brings a team of students for a 3-week trip to Cambodia. Josiah joins for his first trip as a participant.

2025

The Ancheta family plan a move to Cambodia in the Fall of 2025, to serve along side Kit and Ream. They will start a Bible college, and pastor/raise up leaders for The Living God church.
