A neighbor boy jumped our fence and stole Josiah’s fishing poles

He broke some. Sold others.
When everything came to light, most of the items were returned—but in rough condition.

What struck us most wasn’t the loss.

It was our son’s response.

He was upset—not because of the cost—but because of what those fishing poles meant to him.
And yet, almost immediately, he forgave.
Not just in words—but in action.

He continues to play with this same boy.
He’s invited him to fish again.
The situation has mostly passed, but something deeper was put on display:

forgiveness, lived out in real time.

Moments like this are not easy.
Even when the outcome is good, the experience itself can be painful.
But this is exactly the kind of life we believe the church is meant to live.
Not just gathering once a week…
…but walking through real situations together—with the love of Christ shaping how we respond.

🏠 A Church That Lives Like Family

As we look ahead, we’re preparing to begin more intentional Friday evening gatherings starting in May.
These will be centered on:
• fellowship
• prayer
• shared meals
• real conversation
Not just attending—but belonging.

🌱 Building Roots First

We’re learning quickly that what is being formed here won’t come through programs—but through people, relationships, and time.
Through moments like this one.
Because what is built now will determine what lasts later.

🧱 A Place for This to Grow

Our home is already becoming a place where these relationships are forming.
We now have an opportunity to purchase this property—creating a long-term base.
These are the kinds of moments already happening here.

• weekly outreach with neighborhood kids
• church gatherings and discipleship
• a consistent presence in the community

This leads us to a clear opportunity:

🙏 Our Current Need

We are prayerfully working toward raising:

$60,000 goal in 60 days

The full purchase price is $100,000, reduced from an initial price of $180,000. $60k is what we need to secure owner financing, the remaining balance can be paid to the owner over time.

If we are not able to complete the purchase within this timeframe, funds will be used toward ongoing ministry and future opportunities to establish a long-term base.

🙏 Prayer Requests

• Wisdom regarding the property opportunity
• Growth in relationships within the community
• Preparation for Friday gatherings in May
• Fruit from neighborhood outreach

This is not always easy work.

But it is the kind that lasts.

Thank you for being part of what God is doing here.
